I made an artistic challenge for myself. It was for 26 days, although there were a few days here and there that I skipped. Life happens sometimes. The challenge was to go through the alphabet, all 26 letters alphabetically. Hence 26 day challenge for the 26 letters.
The Rules:
I would choose a word or have someone chose a word that began with the letter of the day.
I would need to make a graphic that somehow corresponds to that word.
It can only be one word.
The design part could be the negative space, or in place of a letter or a few letters. Or the word could be the item. Doesn’t matter how, just as long as it is black and white and somehow relates to the word.
It can only take 30 minutes total. This includes choosing the word, figuring out the design, and creating it in Adobe Illustrator.
All of the designs were obvious enough where my 7 year old son was able to figure out what they were. Except the letter “F.” I chose the word “four” for that letter and the negative space of the letters I made the number “4,” but it was sideways. I had to show exactly how the “4” was in the negative space. So, I made a diagram of that one as an extra at the bottom. Just in case you didn’t see it.
Most designs took about 20 minutes total. The quickest one was 5 minutes, it was word "once."
Thanks for checking out my challenge. Let me know which is your favorite. Thanks.
